About Us

Jyotiba Phule Seva Trust, Nanded is a non-profit making voluntary organisation working in the field of education and child welfare in the remote rural villages in Nanded district in the state of Maharashtra.. This organisation was established in 1992 and registered under the Society Registration Act of Maharashtra and the Bombay Public Trust Act. The organization runs the following projects/ programs:-.

1. Shishu Greh.

The adoption centre, provide care, protection, food, clothing and shelter to destitute and orphan children in the age group of 0- 6 years. Shishu Greh with an intake capacity of 10 children is a Licensed Adoption Placement Agency authorised to place children for in-country adoption. The children are well looked after for their medical, nutritional and recreational needs. Motherly care and love is provided by the child care workers as well as other staff members of the organization. Four child care workers work in two shifts to look after the children. There is a doctor on a regular basis as well as a visiting pediatrician attending to the medical care of the children. During the year 2005-06, we could place eight children- 5 boys and 3 girls under Adoption. We are happy that now people are coming forward to adopt girl child. We appreciate them and request prospective adoptive parents to come forward to adopt girl children as all the waiting children in our agency are girls, at present. Birthdays of the children are celebrated in the Shishu Greh. The institution also celebrates Adoption Awareness week during 14-20th November. Programs for adopted parents and parents seeking adoption were held during this week. The social workers and the child care workers have undergone in-service training arranged by Catalysts for Social Action (CSA). They also receive regular in-puts from Adoption Co-ordination Agency.

2. Vocational Training centre.

This centre provides vocational training in type writing and shorthand and is exclusively for the students from backward community. Here the students are trained for appearing Govt. technical examinations.

3. Blind school in Nanded.

The Blind School is successfully imparting training to visually impaired girls and boys during the last 12 years. The school is financially supported by the Social welfare Dept. of Maharashtra State. Apart from imparting training, we also work towards the rehabilitation of the beneficiaries.

4. School for the hearing impaired children.

There are twenty five beneficiaries in this school, which is also financially supported by the Social welfare Dept. of Maharashtra State. The students are provided with specialized training, food, shelter and clothing.

5. De- Addiction centre in Washim.

Drug and alcohol addicts are given treatment and counseling in a residential set-up. This centre is being run under the guidelines and with the financial support of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India.

6. Boys hostel in Hingoli.

This hostel provides lodging and boarding facilities for students from the Scheduled Caste communities, to continue their education at the secondary school level. The beneficiaries are also provided with educational materials, and school uniforms. We are pleased with the educational performance of the students. During the academic year 2005-06, ninety students passed their examination by scoring more than 60 % marks.

7. Girls Hostel in Nanded.
There is an intake capacity for fifty girls in this hostel. Hostel facilities are provided to girls from economically weaker sections of the society to continue their education at the Secondary and Higher Secondary level.

Jyotiba Phule Seva Trust proposes to start the following institutions during 2006-2007:-

   -A scheme for the Handicapped children in Hingoli..

   - Old age home in Rajur, Dist., Parbhani.

   - Blind School in Rajur, Dist. Parbhani.
