Before venturing on an area of support either to an agency or an orphanage, as a matter of practice, we initiate a field research leading to the a White Paper on the subject. 3 separate studies have been initiated by us.
White Paper 1 - Adoption in India
‘Adoption in India”, CSA’s first White Paper on Adoption, was released in 2003. The outcome of a field research, the study analyzed the reasons for the low rates of adoptions in India, and offered suggestions for interventions at various levels. 30 sets of respondents in each of 3 groups viz. Adoption agencies, Adoptive parents and Social workers were covered.
White Paper 2 - Networking to enhance Indian Adoptions
CSA’s second White Paper - 'Networking to enhance Indian Adoptions', was released in March 2005. The objective of this paper was to examine the need and feasibility of networking across Adoption agencies, Orphanages and Destitute homes in the country, to create a virtual cycle whereby children legally eligible for adoption could move into adoption agencies and thus into adoption. The paper also identified interventions that are necessary for ensuring both, enhancements in the numbers as also, the quality of childcare.
White Paper 3 - Adoption Prospects in Odisha
CSA’s Third White Paper - 'Adoption Prospects in Odisha' was released in June 2010. The study carried out in 24 Orphanages and 4 adoption agencies across 12 districts of Orissa, explored the scope of more children coming into adoption. The sample selected randomly, constituted 30 % of the Orphanages in the districts.
