Accounts Manager

Job Position:  Accounts Manager

About the Role:

  • We are an NGO based in Mumbai, working for the betterment of under-privileged children. We are looking for a hands-on Accounts Manager (on a urgent basis) for our inhouse accounting and compliances team. The Accounts Manager, who has experience in finalizing accurate books of accounts and responsible for handling internal as well as Statutory
    auditor. Work Experience in Tally Prime is mandatory
  • Prior experience in NGO / social sector is an added advantage (preferably from Trust accounting, Education sector accounting background)

Responsibilities:

1. Play an primary role in managing the in-house accounting team
2. Review day-to-day accounting, compliance and book-keeping function by ensuring
correct accounting by adhering to all statutory compliances.
3. Develop impactful management and donor reporting framework which includes catering
to the donor specifications while balancing legal requirements.
4. Produce accurate and timely financial reports and financial statements in accordance with
the donor reporting calendar to the Head of Accounts .
5. Serve as the accounting expert at the local level, responding to internal requests timely
and completely.
Role Reporting To Head of Accounts and Finance
Responsible For Finalizing accurate books of accounts by managing
Internal as well as Statutory auditor.

6. Responsible for payments to ensure accurate and timely disbursements
7. Identify and manage compliances, including compliances specific to charitable
institutions
8. Prepare and collate financial data for internal and external audits, and tax and regulatory
reporting
9. Ensure that journal entries, prepaid expense schedules, financial analysis, monthly
account reconciliations, and quarterly financial statement support is properly maintained
10. Assist leadership teams with budgeting and cost optimisation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of work experience in a relevant role preferably from Trust accounting, Education sector accounting background.
  • A bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree from an accredited university with a focus in Accounting or Finance is highly preferred.
  • Work Experience in Tally Prime is mandatory including cost-centre accounting, and experience in preparing reports
  • Early/Immediate joiners will be preferred.

M&E Head

About the Role
The Head of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) will lead and manage CSA's M&E team, driving the organization's data-driven culture and ensuring effective program monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, technical expertise in M&E, and a passion for social impact.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:

  • Lead and mentor the M&E team, fostering a collaborative and high performing environment.
  • Develop and implement the organization's M&E strategy, aligned with CSA's overall strategic goals.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of a robust data management system.
  • Champion a data-driven culture within CSA, promoting the use of data for decision-making at all levels.

Data Management & Analysis:

  • Ensure the quality and integrity of data collected across all CSA programs.
  • Develop and refine data collection tools and methodologies.
  • Oversee the analysis of program data, generating insightful reports that
    inform program improvements and strategic direction.
  • Conduct regular data quality assessments and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Collaborate with technology partners to refine and improve the organization's data management tool.
  • Evaluation of use & effectiveness of various software licenses used, on a regular basis.
  • Reporting & Communication:
  • Develop and refine program reports for various stakeholders, including donors, partners, Board of Trustees and internal audiences.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting on program progress and impact.
  • Communicate M&E findings effectively through presentations, reports, and other channels.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals and reports by providing M&E expertise and data-driven insights.

Research & Dissemination:

  • Lead and/or contribute to research studies related to CSA's work and the broader field of child care and protection.
  • Collaborate with the Advocacy team at CSA to develop strategies for
    disseminating research findings to a wide range of audiences, including practitioners, policymakers, and the general public.

Collaboration & Capacity Building:

  • Collaborate closely with program teams to integrate M&E into program design and implementation.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to staff on M&E concepts, tools, and methodologies.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders,
    representing CSA's M&E expertise.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in M&E, contributing to the organization's knowledge base.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, statistics, public health, international development).
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience, at least 6 years in M&E, with at
    least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of M&E principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Proven experience in data management, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Passion for social change and commitment to CSA's mission.
  • Strong writing skills

Desirable

  • Experience working in the non-profit sector.
  • Familiarity with data management software and tools.

Program Manager (CG)

Location: Raipur

Key Responsibilities -

Implementation & Monitoring of various programs in all allied Child Care Institutions & Aftercare in allied districts - Health, WaSH, Nutrition, Education, Life Skills, Recreation, Career Preparation, and Aftercare –

  1. Facilitate various program interventions in the location-based on the CSA annual plan in allied and non-allied CCIs.
  2. Ensure Care leavers are getting effective exit preparation and better developmental opportunities, and expansion and implementation of the Aftercare Program.
  3. Make frequent field visits to all allied/non allied CCIs to review, strategize, and problem-solve different program activities.
  4. Empower CCI management and staff to maintain compliance as per the JJ Act and get complete buy-in to CSA programs and work approaches.
  5. Provide regular program updates to the reporting manager on all 3 programs.

Management of Quantitative & Qualitative Data of all the programs -

  1. Ensure collation of granular data - key information of CCIs, Aftercare - young adults, resident children, and various interventions
  2. Update and analyze various program data and facilitate data-based decision making
  3. Maintain CSA Program records in every CCI and aftercare young adult—logbooks, child and program records, etc.

Budget & Vendors Management

  1. Prepare, manage & review annual & day to day budgets for the allocated CCIs & Aftercare, and Advocacy engagements.
  2. Ensure budget utilisation and its regular tracking.
  3. Selection of local vendors with an economic solution for all allied CCIs. Also, ensure a timely and transparent finance process - quotation submission and bill settlement.

Internal & External Stakeholders Management

  1. Coordination with internal stakeholders across all locations – requisite support, updates, best practice sharing.
  2. Relationship & Coordination with CCI trustees & Staff, local govt. relations along with other stakeholders -CWC, DCPO, Police, Lawyers, Social workers, and local NGO, etc.
  3. Facilitate partnerships with training institutes and placement cells for smooth transition in Aftercare.
  4. Organising different capacity building and sensitization training - CCI trustees, CCI staff, and respective government officials.
  5. Build a network with relevant stakeholders at districts and state level (concerned line departments, police, lawyers, civil society organisations, media etc.

Assisting in Knowledge development –

  1. Prepare & share content for the organisation's newsletter, website and social media.
  2. Provide case-study, write-ups & supporting materials - photos/videos.
  3. Assist in developing success stories.
  4. Participate/conduct research on relevant issues/topics to further CSA’s cause/vision

Team & Location Development

  1. Manage the location team - Program Officers & Contract Staff and help them to problem solve and achieve excellence in the work.
  2. Outline key development & expansion plan for the location.
  3. Explore various opportunities to build recognition of the organisation's work and sustainability of work engagements.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS;

The person needs to be self-motivated, and enthusiastic as the role requires managing the overall programs in the state. To perform this job successfully, the individual must have a passion and connect to the cause and must be willing and able to travel extensively in different parts of Odisha.

Must have:

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree, preferably in Social Welfare / Development Studies / Public Policy
  • 5+ years of experience working in the development sector with children & young adults, preferably in the field of child rights/child protection
  • Experience of developing training material and facilitating training programs
  • Ability to manage and analyse data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a willingness to ‘get your hands dirty’.

Preferred:

  • Program Management experience, preferably in child protection

M&E Associate

About the Role

The M&E Associate will be responsible for data Interpretation &documentation, preparing high-quality donor reports, proposals, and internal documentation that effectively communicate CSA’s program impact. This role requires strong writing, structuring, and data interpretation skills to ensure clear, well-organized communication of CSA’s work. The Associate will work closely with the M&E Head, Business Analyst, and Fundraising team to ensure that internal reporting and donor communications are accurate, data-driven, and aligned with CSA’s goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Donor Reporting & Proposal Writing

  • Draft, edit, and format comprehensive donor reports, ensuring they align with funding requirements and effectively communicate impact.
  • Work closely with the fundraising team to support grant proposals, integrating program data, impact metrics, and success stories.
  • Track reporting deadlines and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely submission.
  • Maintain a structured repository of key impact data, case studies, and reports for easy access in donor communication.

2. Internal Data Interpretation & Documentation

  • Collaborate with the Business Analyst and M&E Head to extract key insights from program data for inclusion in internal reports.
  • Develop structured templates, infographics, charts, and data tables to present insights clearly in internal documentation. Ensure data accuracy and consistency while communicating program impact to leadership and fundraising teams.

3. Coordination & Process Documentation

  • Maintain up-to-date internal records on program progress, impact metrics, and key insights for internal use.
  • Document best practices, learning reports, and internal review notes from program teams and M&E assessments.
  • Organize and maintain a centralized database of donor reports, proposals, and internal reports for reference.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Statistics, Public Health, International Development, or Social Communications (Master’s degree preferred)
