Accounts Manager

About Catalysts for Social Action:
Catalysts for Social Action (CSA) is a non-governmental organization based in Mumbai that strives to create a brighter future for vulnerable children, children under institutional care and care leavers. CSA operates in four states in India, namely Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh,Odisha, and Goa. CSA works with more than 100 child care institutions with almost 4500 children, and more than 1500 care leavers.

About the Role:

  • We are an NGO based in Mumbai, working for the betterment of under-privileged children. We are looking for a hands-on Accounts Manager (on a urgent basis) for our inhouse accounting and compliances team. The Accounts Manager, who has experience in finalizing accurate books of accounts and responsible for handling internal as well as Statutory
    auditor. Work Experience in Tally Prime is mandatory
  • Prior experience in NGO / social sector is an added advantage (preferably from Trust accounting, Education sector accounting background)

Responsibilities:

1. Play an primary role in managing the in-house accounting team
2. Review day-to-day accounting, compliance and book-keeping function by ensuring correct accounting by adhering to all statutory compliances.
3. Develop impactful management and donor reporting framework which includes catering to the donor specifications while balancing legal requirements.
4. Produce accurate and timely financial reports and financial statements in accordance with the donor reporting calendar to the Head of Accounts .
5. Serve as the accounting expert at the local level, responding to internal requests timely and completely.
6. Responsible for payments to ensure accurate and timely disbursements
7. Identify and manage compliances, including compliances specific to charitable
institutions
8. Prepare and collate financial data for internal and external audits, and tax and regulatory reporting
9. Ensure that journal entries, prepaid expense schedules, financial analysis, monthly account reconciliations, and quarterly financial statement support is properly maintained
10. Assist leadership teams with budgeting and cost optimisation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of work experience in a relevant role preferably from Trust accounting, Education sector accounting background.
  • A bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree from an accredited university with a focus in Accounting or Finance is highly preferred.
  • Work Experience in Tally Prime is mandatory including cost-centre accounting, and experience in preparing reports
  • Early/Immediate joiners will be preferred.

Manager Donor Relations & Communications

Location: Mumbai
Key Responsibilities:
 Working closely with the fund raising team co-managing all the communications with donors and ensuring continuous engagement of donors in the CSA activities.
 Plan campaigns and events for retail giving – digital and offline
 Curate and execute events and Corporate Employee engagement activities.
 Creating donor proposals and reports.
 Maintaining records of donations and donors.
 Plan various engagement activities with donors and providing donor support.
 Responsible for internal communication and gathering updates from all the projects.
 Work on ensuring smooth partnerships with various stakeholders.
 Curate, planning and execute donor engagement events.
 Creating basic creatives in Canva
 Newsletter emails using Zoho
 Following up with internal and external stakeholders on budgets, utilizations, tranches and other necessary documentation related to finance.
 Research and assistance in lead generation of prospects
Requirements:
● Minimum 3 years work experience in similar role
● Previous knowledge and experience in working with corporate and individual donors
● Sound knowledge of the social sector, CSR law, compliances and donor management.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English & Hindi
● Expert with MS Office, Google Drive and similar tools
● Experience with Canva or any other creative document creation platform
● Excellent with planning, coordination and execution and eye for detail
● Willingness to travel across CSA locations if the need arises
● Knowledge and use of social media platforms, tracking tools

Head of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)

About the Role:
The Head of MEAL is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's MEAL framework to ensure effective monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning across programs and projects. This role involves developing and implementing robust MEAL systems, tools, and processes to measure the
impact and effectiveness of programs, enhance accountability to beneficiaries and stakeholders, and facilitate organizational learning and adaptive management.

Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive MEAL framework aligned with organizational goals, objectives, and donor requirements.
2. Design, develop, and enhance measurement tools and technology platforms to facilitate data collection, analysis, and reporting, ensuring they are user-friendly, context-appropriate, and aligned with program needs.
3. Lead the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans for all programs and projects, leveraging innovative data collection methods and technology solutions.
4. Establish accountability mechanisms to solicit feedback from beneficiaries and communities, and ensure their meaningful participation in program design, implementation, and evaluation.
5. Develop and maintain a robust data management system, including database management software and online platforms, to ensure the timely collection, analysis, and reporting of program data.
6. Provide technical guidance and capacity building support to program staff and partners on the use of measurement tools and technology platforms, including training on data collection protocols, data entry, and data analysis.
7. Lead the evaluation and adoption of new measurement and technology tools to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of MEAL processes.
8. Collaborate with the external vendors to customize and integrate technology solutions into existing MEAL systems, ensuring compatibility and interoperability.
9. Oversee the regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of measurement and technology tools to address technical issues and improve performance.
10. Stay abreast of developments and best practices in the field of MEAL technology, and proactively identify opportunities to leverage new tools and innovations to enhance MEAL practices.

Qualifications and Experience:
 

  • Master's degree in social sciences, statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning, preferably in the context of non profit organizations
  •  Strong understanding of MEAL principles, methodologies, and tools, including quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis techniques.
  • Proven ability to manage and analyse large datasets using statistical software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Fluency in English

Asst Manager Volunteering, Training and Advisory

Job Type: Full Time & On-site

Job Location: Mumbai / Pune / Indore / Bhubaneswar / Goa

Reports to: Head - Training and Advisory

Job Description

CSA is looking for dynamic and motivated individuals to join our Training and Advisory team. The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Developing training designs and content related to child rights, child protection, and Juvenile Justice
  • Assist in conducting trainings on the above-mentioned topics for various stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and community members
  • Coordinating with the team to ensure smooth implementation of training programs
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the child protection space and incorporate them into training programs.
  • Contributing to the development of resource materials and advocacy tools
  • Assisting in the documentation and evaluation of training programs

Requirements:

  • Responsible for the Volunteer management / Employee Engagement initiatives and all volunteering activities and campaigns at CSA.
  • Sourcing and managing volunteers, overseeing the implementation of the opportunities, and acting as a liaison between various stakeholders
  • Setting up unique Volunteering initiatives to create a lasting impression about CSA and the beneficiaries amongst Volunteers.

Social Media Intern

Job Summary

The Social Media Intern will play a crucial role in supporting our nonprofit organisation’s digital presence and outreach efforts. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about social impact to gain hands - on experience in social media management, content creation, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare social media posts on our regular activities/donors and also upload them on social media in a timely manner.
  • Dedicatedly see and follow what are the social media trends in our sector and what other nonprofits are doing to improve their social media presence.
  • Will engage with our audience by asking questions/conduct polls.
  • Prepare Did You Know posts.
  •  Make creatives on Canva and videos as and when required. 
  • Can engage with volunteers and co-ordinate and do follow ups with an external agency.
  • Work closely with team members to gather information and create visually appealing graphics, images, and videos.
  • Schedule and publish posts across different social media channels.
  • Monitor social media accounts, respond to comments, and engage with the community to foster positive interactions.
  • Track and analyse social media metrics to assess the performance of campaigns.
  • Provide regular reports on social media activity, trends, and audience insights.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of social media campaigns and initiatives.
  • Stay informed about social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices. Propose innovative ideas to enhance the organization’s social media strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably graduation in mass media or digital marketing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and should know video editing.
  • Comfortable with major social media platforms and their jargons and matrix.
  • Basic graphic design skills and experience with content creation tools.
  • Passion for the mission and values of the nonprofit sector.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Internship duration: Minimum six months

Stipend: Rs 10,000
