Smitha has a wealth of professional experience and a deep commitment to social impact. An engineer by training, with an MBA from Zicklin School of Business, New York, she began her career in finance with Lehman Brothers in New York and later with Nomura in Mumbai, where she held senior roles in risk management, operations, and technology.
During her tenure at Nomura, her passion for social impact blossomed, leading her to spearhead CSR initiatives benefiting underprivileged children and youth. Over the last seven years, Smitha has dedicated herself to the social sector, working with organisations like Dasra, SNEHA, Udaan, and TNS Foundation in roles spanning Finance, Compliance, M&E, HR, and Technology. She also pursued a Masters in Social Work and certificate courses in data science, combining her technical and social impact expertise. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Social Entrepreneurship from IIT, Jodhpur. Smitha’s unique blend of strategic vision, operational excellence, and passion for meaningful change makes her an ideal leader to guide CSA into its next chapter of growth and impact.
